Asha Project Classroom

Asha Project:

Back to School

The Asha Project is being implemented in 10 middle schools to support students from Classes 4 to 8 who are weak in Hindi and Mathematics and are at risk of falling behind. So far, 2,000 students have been academically upgraded and connected back to the mainstream learning process. The program focuses on children who attend school irregularly or had previously dropped out. Regular discussions with parents are conducted to motivate them to send their children to school daily and support learning at home. Within schools, a separate supportive classroom environment has been created where these children learn freely through hands-on experiences, practice sessions, and engaging learning activities, helping them regain confidence and improve their foundational skills.

Journal Writing Initiative by Saral Services:

Journal Writing

Saral Services has initiated a Journal Writing activity to improve the reading, writing, and thinking skills of students. Under this initiative, diaries have been distributed to 1000 students so that they can write about their daily learning, experiences, and thoughts. The purpose of this activity is to encourage students to express themselves in simple words, develop the habit of regular writing, and improve their language skills. Through daily journal writing, students will become more confident in writing and better able to reflect on their learning and life experiences.

Parents Meeting and Training to Jeevika Didi:

Saral Services organized parents’ meetings in collaboration with Jeevika groups to encourage greater participation of parents in school activities. During these meetings, various training sessions were conducted to make parents aware of the importance of regular school attendance, children’s learning progress, and their role in supporting education at home. Parents were also guided on how they can participate in school activities such as PTM, monitoring children’s studies, and maintaining communication with teachers. These trainings helped parents understand their responsibilities and motivated them to actively support their children’s education and school development.
